Butterfly Fairy

Written by Nikki (Salvationforsanity)

Dreams are not forgotten lore. Sometimes even the subtle smell of a flower could bring back a
memory that blossoms hope within its fragile petals. Within it's soft scent remained a promise,
yet unkept, but Ki was not without faith. For it was her own determination that had kept these
dreams alive.

Features as soft and delicate as the wings upon her back gazed into the distance, unseeing.
It was within her own mind that these visions lie. The eyes within her mind played back summers
of laughter and joy as the trees gave their leaves to nature's grace.
Soft fall breezes kissed her satin skin, yet left no chill of Winter's bite. Not yet. Not here. Not now.

Dark hair softly played within the wind's edge and kissed her shoulders, frolicking in a whispy
torrent along her bared skin, along the length of her back, and through her fragile wings.
Her timeless eyes have seen the wisdom of a thousand seasons, but every fall she returns here,
to where life began, in the hands of nature that gave her breath.

It is said that the beginning of fairies started with the first laughter of the first child; that laughter
breaking apart within the air into a thousand pieces, each with wings of their own.
She knows of this story and it almost brings a smile to her soft full lips.

She will wait here, until fall bleeds into winter, and then she will know that another season has
passed and the promise is yet unfullfilled. Or perhaps... if she holds onto her faith... Perhaps
her visions will cease to be dreams and she will find what was lost so very long ago. For love is a
season that never fades, and laughter rings within her memories, only waiting for the right light
to give it breath.
